Yubin Is Ready For Musical Comeback

Yubin Is Ready For Musical Comeback

Yubin may be facing a stiff competition with a star-studded comeback line-up this month.

The former Wonder Girls rapper is confirmed to be preparing new music since establishing her own label, rrr Entertainment.

Although there are no details on the release date, the concept and album name have been revealed. Her new musical offering is expected to hit the K-Pop scene sometime in May, marking her first comeback this year and seven months since dropping ‘Start of the End’ back in October.

Yubin was an active member of K-Pop girl group Wonder Girls for 10 years since its debut in 2007, releasing a string of hits that included ‘Tell Me’, ‘Nobody’, and ‘Why So Lonely’.

Following her departure from JYP Entertainment in January, she announced the launch of her very own entertainment agency, rrr (‘real recognise real’) Entertainment on her personal Instagram account. Her former bandmate and ex-JYP labelmate Hyerim is a signed artist under her label.

Yubin will reportedly be forming a project duo with Hyosung, so fans are expected to hear some new material from the artist this year. Along with the former Secret member and Berry Good’s Johyun, she has also been cast as an MC for cable channel Tcast’s new variety show, ‘People These Days’.

Back in January, the K-Pop idol surprised fans when he announced his engagement to his non-celebrity girlfriend in a handwritten letter. Chen married in a closed-door ceremony with friends and family.

After the news broke of his upcoming marriage, EXO-Ls worldwide have voiced their support and congratulated the pair while some angry fans protested and demanded Chen’s withdrawal from the group.

Despite those who strongly opposed his return, SM Entertainment has clarified that there will be no changes in members to the K-Pop band.

Stars Wish Fans Ramadan Kareem

Stars Wish Fans Ramadan Kareem

IN2IT’s Isaac took to Twitter to wish fans Ramadan Kareem on Friday.

“Four Weeks of mercy, 30 days of worship, 720 hours of Spirituality. 43,200 Minutes of Forgiveness, 2592000 Seconds of Happiness, Ramadan Kareem Mubarak,” the K-Pop boy band member wrote in the group’s official Twitter page.

Quite oddly enough, the Malaysian K-Pop singer added a TikTok video of him taking on the emoji face challenge in the post. In response to his tweet, fans soon commented and thanked the artist for his wishes.

Over the last few years, other K-Pop bands such as BTS wished fans a Ramadan Kareem during an interview with KBS World Radio Arabic in 2015. Back in May, Benji from boy group B.I.G — known for singing Arabic cover songs — told Gulf News that his group would all like to fast for Ramadan for a day.

“If we’re going to do a global cover project, it should extend beyond ‘we sing different languages’. Experience the culture,” he said. “If you’re going to do something and you’re going to receive that much support, that’s the least you can do.”

Isaac has been actively promoting the all-male band since October 2017. Originally formed from survival show Boys24 with eight members, Jinsub departed the group in 2018 while Sunghyun followed a year later.

Alongside soloist AleXa, IN2IT garnered attention last year for embarking on their first tour in India and especially for their Bollywood-style dance cover of ‘The Jawaani Song’ from movie ‘Student Of The Year 2’.

As of the end of January, the group’s remaining members — Inpyo, Inho, Hyunuk, Jiahn, Yeontae and Isaac — reportedly parted ways with MMO Entertainment and continued independently.
